Cast your vote

So, "Moore's 24" (the vote is currently between that and Moore's Hard Core's?!? for Field Day team names, cast your vote, new suggestions are welcome) are quietly working away on their health tests. We've been studying hard about legal and illegal drugs now that TAKS is over. We're also reading through a new novel. I've been enjoying the change and the kid's have too. There's a lot going on around Ashworth. Cinco de Mayo tomorrow=no school. Who knew? :P Then, 13 and a half days left for the kids and 15 more for me. I see the light at the end of the tunnell. Truly, I'm grateful for this stretching experience, and I'll miss these squirmy darlings, but I am getting really pumped about the break.

What else is going on in my world? My dear friend, Charity Ramer becomes Mrs. Clayton this upcoming Saturday. I'm thrilled to have the honor to stand by her side, but I'm nervous I'll ruin the pictures with my tears AND I'm giving a toast and I'm super shy. :) She's been a great friend since we met in choir in 9th grade. I feel old.

I'm reading through Joshua. I have a hard time truckin' through some parts of the Old Testament. Maybe it's just me, but it is truly encouraging to really study and dig into passages and see the amazing power of God and see His faithfulness to His people through history.

I'm working up a good prompt for tomorrow. Stay tuned.

A shout-out to all of my friends (both in undergraduate work and graduate school) who are studying hard for finals, writing papers, etc. Hang in there! Try not to get too overwhelmed and discouraged. Keep working hard with excellence. Finish well. That's what I'm preaching to myself anyhow. Same to busy mom's trying so hard to raise and discipline their children in the way of the Lord. Press on! To celebrate, I think Jay G. Scott will have another funny coming your way!

"Upheld by His righteous, omnipotent hand"
Miss Moore :)

Hehe - that's for you, friend :) I can barely remember the right way to spell it anymore now that I know you. And I'm a "Language Arts" teacher.
Can we talk after school today?

You give shoutouts to everyone but us working folk. Remember those of us that get no summer break, no extended holidays, and no field days?

The ones that make sure that you teachers can access your benefits. That all the prisoners in the TDCJ system get their meds. And that all the child support payments get to the proper recipients. That make sure you can renew your driver's license online. You know. The people that keeps the state running, even in the dead of night.

No respect!

I'm off to sulk...

Laura - praying for finals. Tulips still looking good?
Michael - check the e-mail about teacher appreciation. They didn't foget us! Kind of weird to wear jammies to school though, don't you think?
Slade - Alright, but you don't work at nights now, do you? And... you don't think we work too? Ouch!
Gerlthouse - missing your posts. :) Gory Alias last night, don't you think?

Jamie,

I'll give you my pager. You tell me if I work at night. And its not that I don't think you work, trust me I know. My mom is a teacher. I was just hoping for a shoutout. Not all of your friends are in school, teachers, or moms. Just trying to be included....

Sorry Slade and all! You guys are totally appreciated. I was joking and in a hurry! The world is a better place because of you guys. :) Julie, shout-out to you too! Be looking for a better shout-out soon! Hehe. You seminary students deserve a shout-out too! Way to go for finishing 3 papers, ODP! :)

AND - by the way, it's national "get a snow cone on the way home from work day"

i'd go with the Moore's 24. and while i appreciate the shout out, i fear that the world may be dissappointed if my next entry doesn't live up to everyone's expectations. but finals are over for me next thursday, so it still might be a while
